Halloween is creeping up, and whilst we love going all out, sometimes life is too exhausting to spend hours on your makeup. But that doesn’t mean we can’t serve looks.
If you’re all about the low effort, maximum slay lifestyle, we’ve got you covered.
Whether you’re off to a party, hitting the dancefloor, or just want to get some spooky Insta pics, these looks are designed to give a major impact with minimal effort - let’s get started!
Skull Makeup: Dead, But Make It Cute!
Skull makeup can seem intimidating, but we’ve got a hack for a skeleton look that SLAYS - no stress required.
How to Recreate the Look:
- Grab some black eyeshadow (we love shade Challenge from our Makeup Therapy Pallete) and use your thumbs to carve out those cheekbones - make them pop!
- Blend, blend, blend to get that spooky, shadowy look.
- Carve out your brow bones with the same eyeshadow for that sunken-in look.
- Using black eyeliner, draw vertical lines over your lips, extending this to create a spooky smile.
- Add some dark eyeshadow (or lipstick) to the centre of your lips for depth.
- Finish with a skeleton nose, and a simple smokey eye, then you’re ready to slay!
Top tip: Add a touch of glitter to your cheekbones to amplify the glam!
Pumpkin Spice: Autumnal, But Spooky
For all the pumpkin spiced latte lovers, this look is for you! This pumpkin-inspired look is as warm and spicy as the delicious drink, but with a Halloween twist!
How to Recreate the Look:
- Start with an orange eyeshadow (shade Courage is perfect for this!) and apply it over your lids and into the inner corners. Use a makeup wipe to clear up any fallout.
- Use a fluffy brush to blend a black eyeshadow on the outer corner of your eyes to bring the darker Halloween vibes.
- Swipe on some mascara to make your eyelashes pop.
- Add some blush and a shimmery highlighter (this is where our Match Your Mood palette can help) to add some spice!
- Finish off with a deep, vampy lipstick and hint of orange lip oil.
Top tip: Feel free to use your fingers to apply your eyeshadow and blend with a fluffy brush.
Clown Makeup: Cute, Not Creepy
Who says that clowns have to be scary? This clown makeup is perfect for beginners - or anyone wanting a stress-free Halloween makeup look. Cute AND effortless? We love to see it.
- Use a dark eyeshadow to draw triangles above and below each eye.
- Fill them in with a lighter shade - choose a colour to match your outfit!
- Next up, the nose. Draw a cute little heart on the tip of your nose (how cute?!)
- Finish off with some dark lipstick or lip oil to maximise the cuteness - and you’re ready to make the dancefloor your circus (shoutout to the Britney Spears fans!)
Top tip: Match your eyeshadow shades to your outfit for a coordinated look!
Fairy of the Underworld: Enchanting but Evil
If you’re in the mood to combine magic with a touch of spooky, this is the look for you!
How to Recreate the Look:
- Using a black eyeshadow, create a smokey, winged look - what’s a fairy without wings?
- Take a shimmery white shade (Millie used shade Inspire from our Makeup Therapy palette) and pack it onto the eyelids and inner corners with a flat brush.
- Using the same black eyeshadow, draw horizontal lines across the nose and vertical lines under the eyes for that ethereal vibe.
- Swipe on black lipstick to finish off the look.
- Optional: add gems to the wings of your eyeshadow to bring that extra magic!
Top Tip: Do your winged eyeshadow first, then clean up any mistakes with a makeup wipe or concealer.
Extra Tips for Effortless Halloween Glam
Multitasking Products = An Easy Life
We love a product that does the most! Save time and effort by using multi-purpose products, like our Dare To Blush stick, which can be used all over the face.
When in Doubt, Blend It Out!
Blending is a beauty lover's worst-kept secret. Added too much eyeshadow? Blend it. Trust us - blending can help take your eyeshadow from basic to pro in just a few seconds!
Set It and Forget It
Don’t let your look melt into the night! A quick spritz of setting spray will make sure your makeup stays (and slays) all night long!
Accessorise to the Max
Adding small accessories like gems, wings, or a cool hairpiece can take any low-effort look to the next level.
